FOX 32 NEWS - A river in Russia has suddenly turned blood red, but it’s not an omen.
The Siberian Times reports that the river has turned red before, and that pollution from a nearby nickel factory is believed to be the cause.
Several photos of the “Blood River” began surfacing on social media on Tuesday.
Norilsk Nickel, which is the company that owns the nearby factory, denied that it’s responsible for the color change.
However, Russia’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology said in a statement that it does believe a leaking pipeline in the nickel factory is responsible, and that an investigation has been ordered.
