Medical examiner confirms 51 new COVID-19 deaths in Cook County

Another 51 people died of COVID-19 in Cook County, officials announced Monday.

The newly confirmed deaths bring the county’s toll to 4,479, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Also Monday, Illinois health officials said the statewide COVID-19 death toll reached 6,671, with 137,224 total confirmed cases.
